The majority of the 36 villages in the Indawgyi basin are located off the lake in the plains along the main road. Our bicycles are the best and most sustainable way to experience Indawgyi Lake and its cultural diversity. It is up to you to explore the villages by yourself, or to cycle with one of our local guides.

Explore the cultural sights and Shan Ni villages along the west bank of Indawgyi Lake including the majestic Shwe Myitzu Pagoda. Along the way you can find various religious monuments including the footprints of Mosoma in Lwemon, which is an important relict of Indawgyi Lake’s myth of origin, and the massive Cane Buddha in Namilaung village. Our bicycles allow you to experience the local village live and explore the local handcrafts such as weaving of traditional Kachin fabrics. You can even bike all the way to the eastern bank of Indawgyi Lake and return to Lonton by boat to enjoy the sunset from the lake. The trips can be done in half a day but it is easily extendable to a full day trip with various stops and impressions along the road.
