A kayak trip along the western banks to majestic Shwe Myitzu Pagoda allows you to take photos of the floating monument from every possible angle. When you start early enough you can also continue to Lwemun village to visit a famous ‘spirit’ nat shrine, which depicts the legend of the lake’s origin. A trip to the southern shores of Indawgyi Lake is great for bird watching and can easily be extended to the eastern bank. In the early afternoon you can see local shrimp fishers preparing their locally produced bamboo traps, and enjoy the sunset from your kayak.
